My good friend Ellie suggested that I try making an oven mitt. Here is my first attempt. (Note to self : stop using purple yarn for prototypes - too hard to photograph!) The thumb is a little too long (ok, way too long) but I can fix that. Haven't tried it out yet on a hot casserole dish, but Ellie assures me I will be pleased.

Why do purple and red come out so weird in photos? Is that just digital cameras, or was that a problem with conventional photography as well?
I checked some message boards about that awhile back. I seem to recall the consensus (at least for red) was it was the digital camera. They tend to skew towards reds or blues. I have a camera that has big problems with red...
